The three timelines/stories was not executed well--nor was it needed. I could not care less about Roger's escapades in Scotland.
that was the only interesting part of the season for me. LOL
I still like Claire but Jamie has become such an @ss. Lord John took in your son, protected him, loved him, and raised him as his own and you repay him by savagely beating him and allowing him to be taken by soldiers? He slept with your wife but as they both told you--they were grieving you and it wasn't exactly cheating when they genuinely believed you were dead. But the biggest thing for me is he hasn't even apologized or shown remorse for it. I was so glad that Claire called him back as he was walking away, took his hand and he kissed it. Take that Jamie.
Yeah, I really feel like Jamie's reaction is a bit over the top for a one-night-while-stark-drunk romp WHEN THEY THOUGHT HE WAS DEAD. He can be salty about it, but his 'hatred' is unwarrented.
I like William. His entire world has been turned upside down by lies--so that is plenty of reason to excuse his attitude. I also liked him and Jane and I hated the way her story ended. But this twist had better not be true because that would mean that William slept with his niece. Ewwww!
i KNOW - a hundred eeeewwws, there. and if they do the Faith thing, then William's speach to John about being drawn to Jane is even more barfy.
But at this point, I've invested 7 seasons and so I'm sticking with it until the end. I predict in t he series finale, William will call Jamie father or da--even if it's just the one time.
I'm okay even if he doesn't. like you i feel like i owe it to myself to watch till the end. for whatever reason. I actually hope the end brings everyone to Frazier's Ridge and no one else dies.
for ONCE, just let it end on a high note.
