he finally quit smoking because he had COPD, was on oxygen and couldn't leave the house, and he didn't think he'd ever direct again :(

Last week he had to evacuate it due to the fires :(

I'm gutted. He was my second fave director...it's been a rough week for celeb deaths for me combined with Leslie Charleson.
