and don't have to go in today until 2:30, so it's almost like a two-day weekend. Honestly except for struggling to build a simple storage rack, I did nothing of note <g>.
One thing that WAS of note...up until last July, I've never worked retail. It was interesting (to me) that the "busy" holiday season never felt terribly busy to me (I'm sure it was a different story for folks working at Target or Old Navy or another store that doesn't have such a niche customer base). And now things are absolutely dead at the store. In the 5 hours I worked Saturday (not counting the half hour I was there before the store opened), we had exactly five people walk through our doors. Two were returning items and not buying anything to replace them. Two made small purchases; one bought four tops that were all on sale and one bought only one top. And one young lady was simply "cutting through". I knew at a glance that was her goal and while it doesn't bother me in the least, it makes our store manager angry for some reason.
