diverse, especially in cuisine, and despite me being willing to try pretty much anything edible at least once (chocolate covered mealy worms, anyone?), I've not only never had a few of these, I'm not even sure what said cuisine entails. Like, how is Portuguese food different from Spanish food (yes, I know the languages, culture, etc. are different; I'm just not sure what makes the food so much different)? What, exactly, is considered Indonesian food? So many cultures have a lot of overlap...and how is Indian food not on the list? We have plenty of Indian restaurants in the area (some specializing in Northern Indian dishes and others in Southern Indian dishes), and if TV is to be believed, Indian restaurants are ubiquitous in England. And are we assuming the rankings are based on tourists' preferences? Because if not, by sheer population, you'd think Indian food would make the list and Chinese food would rank higher. And I'm not even sure if I can be judging the international cuisines when most of what I've had has been consumed in a restaurant in America (or Canada) and was either made by a non-native of that culture or was altered for American tastebuds.

Sorry...that was a lot of questions, I know <g>. To ask the question actually posed, I would probably say my favorites from the list are Mexican and Italian. I've probably had, and liked, more of a variety of both those cuisines than the others. Like, I like what passes for "Greek" food here in America but I mostly eat gyros, baklava, and a VERY occasional spanakopita. I love hummus but several cultures claim that as their own. I've only eaten at a Turkish restaurant twice; I discovered I love lebni but I was kind of indifferent to kebobs. I'm also wildly indifferent to Chinese food; there's probably 50 Chinese restaurants within a 25 mile drive of my house (my tiny town has two) and except for some dishes at PF Chang's (which I highly suspect isn't very "authentic"), the war sui gai at Imperial Dragon in Mentor and an occasional exceptionally well done eggroll, I'm not generally a fan of Chinese food. I much prefer certain Thai dishes and certain Japanese dishes.
