It probably wouldn't have hurt this much if certain other things had not happened this week, in the real world, and I came to my show for some joy. Instead, slapped in the face.
Yep. This was going to be my brief reprieve only to hit me hard.
Last season, Minear gave an interview about wanting to get Buck off the "hamster wheel" of his dating life so I really thought they might commit to this storyline and let him have a long term relationship. Dumb of me, huh? I also hate the "It's not realistic for him to end up with his first boyfriend" argument. Oh, "realism"? On THIS show? The beenado show? The ten year olds can land passenger jets show? Yeah, no one is tuning in expecting realism here.
Ha. I don't even know what the hamster wheel is any more. I think we all thought it had to do with his revolving partners. Now it just looks like they're fine with revolving partners as long as they change up the gender every now and then.
The good news is we probably won't have to sit through much of his endgame romance. Knowing this show, he will break up with a million more people before, in the very last episode, meeting someone and being like "You are the one! The end." Same for Eddie. We probably won't even know her name, we will just see him some random lady in the final shots.
I know. Such a waste. But I guess I should expect it considering Buck's end game relationship when it was cancelled at FOX was the boring death doula.
