in the episode. Glad that wasn't the case. I'm sorry the break up upset you all. I guess I feel differently because I never saw Tommy/Buck as sustainable. As a gay man who has dated two bi men--it's never going to work. The first guy I broke up with because he was a bartender and had crazy hours. The bar closed at 1 and he would be there until 1:30 and 99% of the time, he would go eat with co-workers and not make it home until like 4 and then sleep until 2-3pm. This became a problem because we would make plans for early afternoon and he rescheduled on me constantly or I'd call and no answer and I knew he was knocked out. He also didn't have a lot of extra cash. I would pay for meals because I made way more and it became a problem for HIM.
The second guy broke up with me after 9 months to date a woman. That was the moment I decided that I would not date anymore bisexual men. In the back of my mind, I was always wondering what would happen if he got a craving to sleep with a woman?
I think the Abby twist was pretty lame and even more so how out of the blue the break-up was. I will say that this was Buck's first toe dip at exploring his sexuality. And I believe that Buck was all in but Tommy wasn't because he knew from the beginning what it was--fun. He cares about Buck but I never got the impression that Tommy ever felt like they were long-term. I know Tommy/Buck had a legion of fans and I'm sorry for my SZoners who were saddened by the contrived break-up.
And I will say again that I hope they NEVER do Buck and Eddie. They are best friends. Eddie Diaz is straight. I think that would be hella confusing for Christopher. Buck is like his uncle and if he were to come home and they were now a couple--the shock would likely send Christopher back to live with his grandparents. Buck and Eddie have an amazing friendship and I hope that's where it stays.
That being said. I don't remember ever seeing a Buck/Abby love scene. Nothing more than kissing? It's been a long time. Did I forget?
