I don't think they could have written Tommy as a better partner. It feels like the rug was pulled out from under me, and I can't even be happy about other things that happened in the episode.
Yeah, that's what I don't get at all. He was like the perfect boyfriend. He was on the job himself and understood the struggles and pressures of it. He was kind and loving and supportive and seemed to really adore Buck. There was no obvious issues or foreshadowing of anything. It's just such a u-turn.
Is it political? Did focus groups decide that they didn't like Buck dating men?
Honestly, this is what I'm wondering, too. Because it was clearly being set up as a long term relationship. I know I didn't imagine that, I can read the signs in the writing. Then it was just over in like 2 minutes. I do wonder if the edict came from a higher up or something.
