I was supposed to visit Valencia post Camino, but due to a foot injury (plantar fasciitis) and a weird feeling I had (and a cheaper direct flight), I came back a week earlier than planned instead of visiting Valencia. I still would have been back before the "gota fría/DANA" storm that brought all the floods because of the elections, but it would have been cutting in pretty close...
Valencia City is more or less ok--after the last huge flood in the 1960s, they rerouted the river (normally a trickle, but now looks like the Ohio or Mississippi to outside the city), but the rest of the province is in rough shape. Everyone I know is okay, thankfully.
Thanks for thinking of me.
