the Big Fall Cleanup usually takes 3 or 4 weekends, and last year, we started early and did a little at a time. This year, we'll do the same.
We cut down all the tall grasses, whatever was left of the hosta and the peony greens. This will help the leaf clean up process, because leaves won't get stuck in or behind. I often pray for windy days to move the leaves onto our neighbors yard!!! LOL
Next, we'll do whatever trimming needs to be done - on everything except the evergreens, I like to do the trimming when i'm doing the outside decorations, so I can use the clippings and do a 'real' garland on the lamppost.
I also cleaned up the Halloween decorations inside and out. Next, I'll start putting away all the 'normal' decorations that I have out the rest of year so I can make room for the CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS that I plan to start setting out the week of Thanksgiving. This way, I don't have to put away WHILE unpacking the holiday stuff. It can get messy, crap all over the tables, chairs and floor. Separate those 2 tasks, will make it easier, I hope. it's a labor of love, I cannot deny that.
