the NYC law firm where he interned offering to start him counting this year as his first, it sounds like they will count his internship as his first year therefore, if he accepts the job, starting him at year two which, among other things, would impact his benefits package/accrual and his promotion/advancement timeline.

Is he going to accept that job offer or stay in NC? How is it going with winning his girlfriend back? Whatever he decides, congratulations to him and his proud aunt.
