PMS wasn't a thing for me and other than some mild cramps on day one and a pretty heavy flow on days 2-3, my period wasn't much of a problem. And then I was fortunate to go into menopause slightly earlier than average (I was done with that nonsense a few months shy of my 51st birthday). I cannot imagine still bleeding monthly in my early 50s...you have my sympathy!
Anyway...back to the topic...You had an enjoyable day treating yourself after a long spell of being unable to treat yourself. Please enjoy your chocolates and yummy cheeses, and don't beat yourself up about your 'foodie' shopping spree. Life is short.
I would make the cheeses into a meal. Serve with your favorite fruits, veggies, bread, crackers, olives, pickles, brined beans, roasted nuts, jam, savory dip, etc.- whatever you have in. It's a great way to clean out the fridge! If I make this for others, I add a mix of pepperoni, salami, and prosciutto.
Thank you! I've been trying to make everything last as long as possible; for example, I broke the cookie from my bakery visit in half and ate it over two days. The chocolates are going slightly faster...<g>. And yes, I've incorporated the cheese into two meals so far. I mentioned I wasn't sure if I'd even be able to tell a fancy cheese from a regular grocery store cheese...I can, but honestly, I wasn't a fan of the first one I tried. It was a gouda sheep cheese--"sweet Annie"--and it didn't taste like much of anything except for a slight plastic taste from the wrapper :-(
