I think of TJ’s as one of the original everyday low prices stores. They keep their prices low by mainly selling house brand TJ’s products. They only sell a tiny bit of national brands. I’d much rather shop at a store that has everyday low prices than have to watch the weekly sales for deals at a more traditional supermarket.
For example, a big box of Joe’s Ohs cereal is always $2.49 at TJ’s compared to a box of Cheerios at a traditional grocery, where the price for a box of cereal can be outrageous. At $7 for a box of cereal, even when it’s on sale, it’s still more expensive than TJ’s Joe’s Ohs. And to top it off, many of TJ’s inexpensive house brands are organic while most pricey national brands are not organic.
I can never understand why anyone thinks TJ’s is expensive. It really is very subjective.
