I think as Purchasers, we've allowed BH to have higher prices because we are convinced, they are the highest quality cold cuts out there. I would hope this humbles them, but they will probably raise their prices.....
Yep. Most businesses will raise prices until the customers balk and stop buying the product, so really, we consumers have *some* responsibility for the higher costs we pay on some products.
Back when Dad was first diagnosed with CHF, we were frantically trying to figure out which foods he could eat. He was never a big sandwich eater other than the occasional pb&j but he occasionally liked cold cuts. I was trying to figure out how to get some variety in his diet while also keeping it simple--*I'll* cook a low sodium meal from scratch but Dad has no interest in doing so--so for a while, I was buying Boar's Head low sodium sliced turkey breast. But it got too expensive and I was having to go to a specific store that's a little out of the way to get it, so we've not had any BH meats in at least a couple years.
