However, we get more winter than L.A., so I'll take it.
completely understood!
We get the changing of the leaves here (Sacramento is an oasis in the middle of prairie with two rivers...tons of trees). They're already changing in fact. I think False Fall fooled the Pistache and Maple trees LOL.
we are having our false fall right now, but i am hoping we fool Mother Nature entirely. We do usually get a warm week in late Sept/early October but it's just a couple of days and it's rarely hot at night.
But regardless, there are quite a few trees that are already starting to turn. I wake up to new leaves on the ground on every morning.
Things I used to do: take LW to various pumpkin patches. There's a HUGE one up in Lincoln that has so many activities and a huge corn maze.
I need to find a place near me with a corn maze. the closest one i KNOW of is over an hour away and on a weekend that isn't going to happen.
This year, I think I'm a gonna schlep us up to Apple Hill. It's a collective of farms about 45 miles up the hill from us on US 50 in El Dorado Co. I'm gonna get apple cider and pumpkin pie and all kinds of yummy, warm, fall treats.
apple cider donuts are one of the BEST parts of fall!! and I'm not talking one from Dunkin, nooooo - the ones the sell at those fairs and the orchards! the ones they deep fry on the spot and actually use apple cider to make! ahhhhh there's an outdoor flea market nearby (Elephant's Trunk, made famous by Lara Spencer's Flea Market Flip) and there's an orchard that has a cart or whatever, and they make and then sell fresh apple cider donuts and donut holes. when you get them still warm? ohhhhh lordy!!
