still very with it mentally and still gets around okay physically. Although, he has slowed down as far as his speed of walking and is now using his cane almost all the time. Dad is legally blind but refused to use a cane (unless traveling alone as it got him help) until the last 2 years.
Hubby's mom? With hubby having legal attorney on the money accounts, he can keep an eye on what is being spent pretty easily. His biggest issue is they don't always get him receipts which makes balancing things a bit difficult.
But, there was the time she wrote a check out for a walk-in sit-down shower that he had to scramble to move $ from savings to checking to cover it. So he said anything over $500 talk to him first.
