of WKRP in Cincinnati where newsman Les Nessman kept pronouncing golfer Chi Chi Rodriguez's name as "Chaye Chaye (rhymes with "bye") ROD-ri-gweeze. Even after Venus and Johnny corrected him.

I get a kick out of new anchors on Cleveland's news shows stumbling over the county name Cuyahoga. "KAYE-uh-HOG-ah" is correct, but locals won't wince if you say "KAYE-uh-HOE-guh". One Cleveland baseball player years ago pronounced it "Cuh-HOO-guh" and took a lot of ribbing for it.
