see one earlier than late May and later than early September.
After the first day, I'm all the way up to $5.75 😁 Could've been $6.75 but I'm a sucker for small children politely asking if they can have something cheaper/for free (it irks me when adults do it; it's adorable when a child asks--Mom was always the same way when she participated in a garage sale). In a group of six sellers, I'm dead last...but TBH, I brought in less stuff than all but one of those sellers (Mrs. J). Also, almost everything I'm trying to sell is <$2. The only "high ticket" item I have for sale is a long black wool coat with a cute pin on the lapel that I'm asking $10 for.
The hottest items in this sale so far are the tools. Doesn't matter how rusty or beat up a saw or shovel or mallet looks, some guy wants it. One guy spent $60 on mostly tools for his home renovation business. He bought two shovels (plus a LOT of other stuff) and told us his business has, and I quote, "800 shovels" but his guys are always losing them. I'm not sure how you lose a shovel but everyone was in agreement that the old, rusty, beat up shovels were still sturdier and better made than anything at Home Depot these days.
