something similar when she had lung cancer. It was stage 1A--the "best" possible stage cancer can be--and it was contained to one area of her middle lobe in her right lung. The doctors removed the entire middle lobe (forever after, she would tell people she had "a lung" removed, and on days when I was feeling a bit mean and crabby, I'd correct her, telling her it was "only" one lobe of the lung, and it was the lung that had three lobes instead of two). But he recommended against chemo since all other areas tested came up clean, and also probably because of her age. So many people asked why she didn't have chemo as well. Uh...because she didn't need it? And it's basically a poison, albeit one that can be useful at times?
