the 'differences' in this season from the book actually made sense, given the backdrop of the first season.
I haven't read any of the books so it's pretty easy for me to take it all in, although I do like how they incorporated some of the changes they made from what I've heard from the book.
I was impressed by how they incorporated the fact that Louis is a queer black businessman in early 1900s NOLA into the narrative. Sometimes when they opt to change a race or sexuality, they don't weave it all that well into the narrative. It's either treated as if nothing changes (which I'm fine with too--a la Bridgerton) or gets heavy handed. I think they incorporated it just right.
LOTS of huge, sweeping differences that made this feel like a 'new' story being told even tho this followed the general arc of the book.
Lestat is just amazing. i freaking love him!!
I don't really have a favorite. I love how acerbic Daniel is. I think Sam Reid/Lestat is so charismatic. Jacob Reid/Louis blows me away by how many different versions of Louis he has had to play. And Assad/Armand is giving such stepford wife vibes but I was totally enchanted by his work in the San Francisco scenes. And I liked both actresses who played Claudia. They brought something different to the role and yet I believed they were the same character.
