Did the second woman have a right to sit anywhere she wanted to? Sure, but unspoken train etiquette says that you don’t squish into that knee-to-knee seat if other seats are available.
I’m betting that Larry David would emphatically agree. This whole incident sounds like a Curb Your Enthusiasm or Seinfeld episode. In my mind, Susie from Curb is the first woman and Elaine from Seinfeld is the second woman. And Larry is sitting across the aisle witnessing the whole thing. LOL. Alternatively, Larry (or George) could be the first woman.
