of a Native American--either the Onodaga or Seneca tribe, nobody's certain--"sheagua", meaning "raccoon". I've seen a few live, including a cheeky fella who used to come up on our porch and eat the cat food we put out for Juice (if Juice didn't get there first), but most of the raccoons I see are dead on the side of the road :-(
