I am pretty sure I saw him play, too. 1973 was the year the Mets made it to the WS (then got creamed by the Reds). Baseball prices were affordable then, so we went to many games at both stadiums. Via subway of course.

I was a Yankees fan first, but also cheered for the Mets (except in the 80s when I thought the team was too arrogant).

But...I don't remember.

Of course, he also played for the NY Giants before they moved to SF. This was before I was born.
