If he has a meeting and it's his night? Dishes don't get done until he gets back from the meeting or sometimes even the next morning (if the meeting ran long). However, the dishes are rinsed and organized on the counter.
Sometimes I do them right after we eat but other times, I let them sit (rinsed & organized) while I do something else.
And if we have people over? The dishes just get rinsed and stacked. We're too busy talking, playing games etc to worry about the dishes. There's time enough to do dishes after everyone else leaves.
We have no dishwasher, so dishes are all done by hand.
