detailed material, including proposed legislation, digested it and then wrote concise executive summaries for use in important meetings. Not exactly the same but I think I have a good sense of what good staffers do in Congressional offices. It’s still a little disconcerting to think of elected reps voting on important bills without having actually read them thoroughly themselves.
