a brother/sister vibe from Chris and Maggie, so them ending up together made ZERO sense to me. Like you, I didn't really care if Joel and Maggie ended up together, although all of Maggie's boyfriends died odd deaths, so maybe it was a blessing Joel and Maggie weren't endgame.
Joel's breakdown was a decent story, but the show definitely suffered without him around.

I really enjoyed S1-4 though and I'm glad I watched it. I'll eventually get to St. Elsewhere (and if I ever stumble across I'll Fly Away), other shows from the original showrunners/exec producers...
I've been wishing for a long time now that St. Elsewhere would end up on some "old timer's" TV channel. I don't get any of the streaming services airing it, and our local library system only has season one. I think there were only two times St. Elsewhere was on DVD: there's season one and then a "complete series" DVD collection that I'm not even sure is legit.
