Bald Eagles! Yesterday afternoon, while L and I strolled through Seymour

Parkway and ... I heard the high pitched calls of what I believed were Bald Eagles. They were soaring way up above so they were hard to see, but they were dark. BirdID refused to hear their calls (yet, heard the call of a visitor, a Dusky Flycatcher, which I didn't heard so...who knows.)

I double-checked the call on the app, and yup, very Bald Eagle. They sound very different from red-tailed or red-shouldered hawks, and I've seen this soaring behavior before with BE families.

In the evening, I made a stop at Grocery Outlet and heard the call again. This time, I readily ID'd it as a Juvenile Bald Eagle.

This was an exciting pair of sightings. There are BEs along the American River, in the Bay Area, in North State and on the various lakes up here, but only one sighting I've heard of a BE in South Pocket (we are Pocket/Greenhaven 'hood).
