They definitely didn't poll the employees, lol. Or actually give us enough of a deadline, even. It was a very "suits up high not aware of peons down below" thing because, since the six chiefs who made the decision (well, four - my division chief was against it, meaning my supervisor's supervisor) all have their own designated parking spaces, they didn't realize that by the time they told us we needed to be back, the deadline had already passed to update our transit subsidies, which the majority of employees rely on, including yours truly, I metro in.
