"Fairy Tale" by Stephen King. I finished it and I'd give it a B+. I loved the beginning, the middle flailed a bit but I think it came together good at the end and I liked the ending a lot.
"All The Sinners Bleed" by S.A. Cosby. This one is harder for me to rate because I didn't like the subject matter (serial killing pedophiles). The book itself is well written and I love his style and prose but the plot is so dark. I think I like my monsters in actual monster form, ya know. The plot is the murder of a beloved school teacher leads to the discovery of a pedophile/serial killer trio and the local sheriff tries to solve the crime while dealing with general stupidity from all angles. I'll give it a B+, maybe an A-.
"The Angel Of Indian Lake" by Stephan Graham Jones. I'm currently reading and have about 100 pages left to finish it. It's the final installment of his Indian Lake/Jade Daniels trilogy. I've loved it so far. Will see how it actually ends tho before rating it.
I love his Jade Daniels books. In the first one (My Heart Is A Chainsaw), she begins as a troubled teenager who's always taken solace in slasher movies only to find a real one playing out in her town but no one wants to believe her. The second one (Don't Fear The Reaper) has her coming back to town several years after the first book to find a killer has escaped custody during a brutal snow storm and the mayhem continues. Third one (The Angel Of Indian Lake) she is an adult now, trying to lead a normal life as best she can but there's no normal in this town. π I swear, I'd move if I were her.
