of my top five favorite people in the world EVER. She has such a kind heart and is fun to be around...once we settle on what to do. But the only time vacationing with her is *slightly* less of a hassle is when I go to see HER, usually for some scheduled event (a kid's graduation, a Home Free concert, etc.). When she's up here, she wants to run around and do a ton of stuff but honestly physically can't (I'm having a hard time wrapping my mind around the fact that she turns 70 this year) and then sometimes winds up doing nothing, or promising to do something and not doing it. The family trip to Edisto Island in 2022 went better than I expected because there was literally NOTHING on the agenda, and not much to do on the island except relax on the beach and eat good food. I'm very good at both of those things <g>.
The way we're looking at Monday, if there's too much cloud cover and we can't see the eclipse? Well, we aren't at work (but sill getting paid), took a nice drive and spent some time with a few friends.
That is a fantastic attitude to have! I'm nearly positive that not only will the weather not cooperate Monday (they're currently predicting partly cloudy skies with 30% chance of rain), we'll probably see the sun Tuesday <g>. Sis has a pretty good attitude too...she feels if she doesn't see the eclipse, at least she got to see the family and some of the places she used to frequent when she still lived here.
