recommend eating at Halcyon, in the Ashtabula Harbor area. Ashtabula is, sadly, a shadow of its former self, with many businesses shuttered over the years (the Ashtabula Mall is barely hanging on; it was down to just a handful of stores the last time I was there--at least 3 years ago--and most were local businesses) but the harbor area and Walnut Beach are nice. Halcyon used to be a speakeasy; now it's a bar/restaurant with awesome burgers and amazing risotto.
