But I hate when shows start on one platform and then move to a different one. This has never made me subscribe to the new platform and I won’t be subscribing to Amazon Prime in this case either.
The worst example of this, for me, is when AMC aired A Discovery of Witches, a trilogy. The first two seasons were aired on AMC and then the third and final season was aired on AMC+ only, AMC’s streaming service. That move did not make me subscribe to AMC+. Instead, it made me hesitant to watch anything new on AMC.
At least, in American Rust’s case, it was saved by a completely different company than the one that cancelled it — not moved to a subscription service of the same company that started it.
The bottom line for me: There are more good TV shows to catch up with than I have time to watch. There is only so much time to watch TV. So when they make it difficult to watch, that show falls right off my radar, even very good shows like American Rust.
