Today's crime: for the last 5-6 months, Giant Eagle has been taking a single item, and very occasionally two items, and putting them on a single day sale, either greatly reducing the price or on a few occasions just giving away the item. I've gotten free hand sanitizer (travel size), a free roll of parchment paper (just in time for Christmas baking) and a free can of Coke's new "spiced" flavor (good but not great). I've also gotten the store brand salsa, normally $4.99, for 99 cents (it's even better than some restaurant salsas) and considered getting a 5 pound bag of potatoes, also normally $4.99, for 99 cents (but I'd just bought potatoes, so I passed). Today's special sale was the store brand paper towels, normally $1, for 49 cents. Not the greatest deal but I've been going through so many paper towels when I do pour painting, mainly because despite laying down a ton of newspaper, I still manage to drip paint on the floor. Anyways, all these sales items are only on sale if you use your GE Advantage card, and it's supposed to be one per customer. Tonight was my turn to cook dinner, but Dad graciously offered to buy me dinner at Burger King (we had coupons) if I'd drive him to a sporting goods store 30 minutes away. So I did, and we went to both places, plus I got my cheap paper towels and a few other groceries at that town's GE. Then on the way home, just because I was curious to see if it would work, I stopped at our GE and bought more cheap paper towels. I wasn't going to argue if they rang up as $1 because I'd already used my card and gotten a roll earlier...but they didn't. So I got two cheap rolls of paper towels when I really was "entitled" to only one. I'm so bad...
ETA - at the Middlefield GE, they had more ice cream on sale. I got a pint of Jeni's dairy-free Texas sheet ice cream for $2.37 and a pint of Real's Keto, full-fat, lactose free ice cream, chocolate caramel nut flavor, for only $1.74. I'm set on ice cream for a while...
