There is a slight chance that I might actually remember the first person voted out this year. Jelinsky was that delusional, arrogant and stupid. His aggressive volunteering to do everything, followed quickly with giving up and folding, was maddening. Then he claimed it was Q’s idea to quit the holey bucket challenge. So he didn’t even own it. His passionate belief that several means seven told me that his thought process would have gotten old fast.
I was hoping that Jess might be one of those people who has a rough start and then has an arc of acclimating and growing. That was not to be though.
I’m with you on Liz, if she’s the one who claims to own four companies and be very wealthy and she did it by teaching people how to email (LOL, or something like that). She is extremely annoying to say the least. I think I sometimes get Liz mixed up with Moriah (Mo?) though.
I don’t have any real favorites yet, although I did take an immediate liking to Maria.
I don’t mind the flint thing. I like that Survivor is back to basics and is hard — not a vacation in Fiji — as it should be to win a million dollars. It had gotten to a point pre-pandemic of having way too many luxury rewards. It’s also hard that they don’t start them with rice. But I say “go forage for food”. It’s a lush island with plenty of vegetation and edible fruit to be found and seafood to be caught or dug up.
I like the longer format of 2 or 1.5 hours because I feel like we get to know the players better.
