We usually drove to places growing up, so that's how I got to do them. I don't know if I mentioned it, but before I was born, my parents wanted to visit every MLB baseball park in the country, and somehow that got converted to states instead (they never did make it to the MLB goal because they kept opening new ones or redoing them.) Now the price of professional sportsball games is too expensive so they probably would have found something else.
Maybe all the balls of twine?
(Note: I have not been to the ball of twine. I was just amused by it in 2019 when I saw it on the Rand McNally Atlas as an attraction. It's too far off I-70 and we were on our way to Colorado.)
