there, but when I went and stayed with a college buddy in Oahu, I went all over. I think I was there 2 weeks? He lived right next to Diamond Head. It was so cool. We ate in Waikiki. We went to PH, and we went to the Polynesian Cultural Center. I thought Honolulu was fun and an actual, real city. We also saw Depeche Mode while I was there. Boy grocery prices are crazy there. That's why as a thank you to my bud and roomie, I bought groceries that week.
You definitely hit many of the highlights!
I rented a pink Mustang and zipped around the island too. Al was working, so many of the days, I took care of myself.
The next year, Al got married on Kauai and I was in the wedding party. We had SO much fun. Aside from the beautiful wedding to his true love :)), we also hiked that rainforest mountain there, forgot the name. It was muddy, and I mean, clay mud, so we (wedding party) were covered in mud when we got back. It was hilarious.
Vegas is for people-watching! When we go, we go to the Strip, Red Rocks, the old, downtown Vegas, and the Hoover Dam. I always have fun there, always. I don't gamble much. I'm there to eat, be a tourist, and watch people. I think I've been there 4 times but I haven't been since 2014, when we (L and I) drove from Sac to Vegas with my cousin. Yeah, don't do that. It was a Friday night, boxing day, and yet, when we got to the intersection of the highway that takes you from the Central Valley (CA 58), though the western part of the Mojave, and to the I-15...OMG. Took us over 12 hours to get there. Lots of long distance commuters. I was not pleased.
Going back NYE wasn't nearly as bad. Laurel and I got all excited about the snow in Baker, CA. I think it "only" took 10 hours to get back.
It was COLD as heck in Vegas that week. Vegas gets hot, but it also gets real winters and they get snow. Brrrr. But it was still a blast.
