have you already explored that possibility? Or maybe working for a landscaping company? Both of those would have you working outdoors a lot.

What about teaching new immigrants English? I would think there would be a big need for ESL teachers. Or have you totally ruled out any teaching?

One of the best ways to find a job is via people you know. I’m guessing that a lot of the people you know are somehow connected to the university. Big universities usually have a lot of jobs. Have you explored what the non-teaching job opportunities are at the university? Gotten the word out that you are open to non-teaching jobs at the university? Make sure people aren’t thinking of you as someone who ultimately wants to teach?
