I've only put in a few applications recently. I'm frustrated by the fact that there's just nothing out there that sounds all that great, and I'm not quite (almost though) to the point where I have to lower my standards and just take anything. I'm (relatively) confident that I could get a job at one of the local stores or restaurants that always seem to be hiring...I'm just not sure that's what I want to do, and again, I've not quite reached the point where I'm willing to take something I *really* don't want to do even as an "interim" job. Soon though...

I saw a slightly depressing story on my phone this morning about a snotty millennial who was frustrated at her 65 year old new hire for not perfectly understanding all the technology required to do the job they were hired to do. To be fair, it sounds like the new hire lied about their qualifications (and didn't read an email saying you need to text the boss to log in to the work system...turns out new hire only has a landline). But the snotty millennial wound up by saying this 65 year old, and ALL the other 65+ folks, were "too old to work anyways". When she rightfully got called out for being ageist, she tried to back pedal, claiming it was "just a joke" but even if it was, which I doubt, it wasn't funny. It is, in fact, sad to realize there's a number of senior citizens still working not because they just want to keep busy but because they don't have enough money to retire.
