because people were calling, emailing, etc and needing me urgently when I HAVE OTHER WORK TO DO, LIKE THE DOZENS OF BILLS I AM ANALYZING OR OVERSEEING. Leave me alone, people!
I think this is the busiest time of the year for us. the bill analyses mean I pretty much have to be on my laptop all day. Writing, reading, double-checking analyses by our wonderful volunteers, sending up recommendations and then if approved, writing the letters or editing letters drafted by the volunteers.
Soon, hearings will begin, and since the legislature eliminated call in testimony, I'll need to go over there when our volunteers are not available to do the testimony.
