ANYWHERE) many years ago when places all started tacking on a (minimum) $3 charge for delivery. Between the $3 and the tip, it was just generally cheaper for me to get in my car and go pick up a pizza. Another plus side: I now had the option to get pizza outside a delivery zone*
* for the longest time, my favorite pizza place was about a 35 minute drive away, just a bit further than they were willing to deliver. But then they took the margherita pizza off the menu, and it was the best margherita pizza I've ever had and was my annual birthday meal and now they're dead to me**
** OK, that was a bit dramatic but I've probably only gotten pizza from the place twice in the years since they stopped making the margherita pizza. I've never officially counted but there's probably at least 50-60 pizza places within a half hour drive of my house, including four places in my tiny town (one of which is a mom and pop Italian restaurant whose food, especially their pizza, is a "must have" for the locals), so I'm not without options.
But seriously...I honestly can't think of anything I'm willing to pay extra for during peak hours, including hotels or flights. And definitely not fast food...
