loved it. I look forward to Celine Song’s next film, Materialists. I’ll also be on the lookout for some live theatre from her. I could.tell from her semi-autobiographical Past Lives, that she is a playwright whose work I’d like to see.
She was fantastic, in my humble opinion. Also recently I rewatched another Alexander Payne movie: About Schmidt. Kathy Bates' role in this is one of the most memorable things I've ever seen. LOL
I overall liked The Holdovers a lot. But DJR’s Mary was probably my favorite part of this movie. I too hope she gets the Best Supporting Actress Oscar. ETA that I’ve never seen About Schmidt. I’ll put that one on my list of movies to catch up with. Kathy Bates is always good. I just finished AHS:Coven and she was memorable in that.
Harold and Maude. I finally watched this cult classic from 1971. I enjoyed it. I really liked how quirky it was.
I love this movie. I’ve seen it numerous times over the decades. I especially love Maude.
Saltburn: two students at Oxford (one rich, one poor) form a friendship and they go to the family estate of the wealthy student for the summer. It's kind of Talented Mr. Ripley-esque and stars Jacob Elordi, Barry Keoghan, Rosamund Pike, Carey Mulligan and Richard E Grant. I though Barry Keoghan was absolutely terrific in this.
This one is definitely on my list. Barry Keoghan has been a standout in every film I’ve seen him in.. He was great in The Banshees of Inisherin and in The Killing of a Sacred Deer, for example.
