So I did end up reading King's Holly and Billy Summers. LOL
With Holly, I always enjoy entering the world of Holly Gibney and Jerome and Barbara, etc., but the case in this particular book was so disturbing and heartbreaking.
I did really like Billy Summers. It meandered, but I liked that about the book. There were a couple moments that made me uncomfortable, but overall, I,thought it was a really good read.
I also read The Maid by Nita Prose. A young woman most likely on the spectrum is a maid at a five star hotel in NYC. She one day goes into a room to clean and finds a guest dead and things go from there. I liked it and plan to read the second book, The Mystery Guest.
Now I'm working on The Heaven & Earth Grocery Store by James McBride. It's about a small town in Pennsylvania in the 1930s, the poor section where African Americans and Jewish people and later other immigrants live. It's full of colorful characters and there is also a murder mystery, although that is not the main focus of the book so far.
