Because that's what fundraising used to be...overpriced (but sometimes super delicious) treats.
I actually don't have a problem with her sharing a gofundme. I don't think she should have to pay for the whole team. I feel the same way over stupid reactions that rich people should just cover instance of monetary injustice they see instead of crowd sourcing small donations.
I just don't think it's her place to start one. If I were her, I'd make it clear that not everyone's family can afford to send their children on the trip and that she knew people in her network might want to help.
