sundress and bare feet. The pool is not heated so too cold for a swim. But it’s nice to be sitting outside so comfortably. We went through my mom’s music cds and took turns picking the ones we’d each like to keep. We’ll do the same with the photos. We already have many of the photos we wanted because my mom sent us home with big envelopes full whenever we visited. We’re still shredding, shredding and shredding. So far, no sign of the house deal falling through. It’s looking good.
We’ve been getting out of the house enough via Uber to do a variety of errands. Sunday we went out to a local fish house for a good seafood dinner with two good friends of my mom. They drove and we treated them to thank them again for all they did for her. Hush puppies came with my delicious melt in my mouth tender oysters. Mmmmm. Oh and fried okra. Also yum.
Yesterday we had to do some banking and UPS store errands so, as long as we were there, we ate a very early 5:00 dinner at Olive Garden. I think it was the first time I ate at Olive Garden in 20 years. It wasn’t bad for a chain. And you know I’m a Brooklyn snob about Italian restaurants. We had a bottle of their house “red blend”. And yes, we got extra salad to go with our dinners because “when in Rome”. Olive Garden can now go on the okay list for road food. There’s a mom and pop Cajun restaurant that we are going to hit next time we feel like not cooking.
