winter is akin to most of the US's early fall, except in the mountains). El Chico and I do a short trip over Christmas somewhere if the weather cooperates.

Neither one of us are fans of resorts, nor skiing or anything like that.

I still go hiking in local forest preserves in winter. I just bundle up.
