On the one hand, I can totally see people paying less attention to sports and concentrating more on more important things. But OTOH, sports can be a great diversion. I wonder if lower level sports--semi pro ball, college ball, high school sports--are also suffering from a lack of interest or if they're doing OK.

This has been a very interesting discussion all around!
