I wasn't diagnosed with RSV while it was still an active virus despite it seeming to go on forever (seriously, as someone who had COVID very early on and had a hard time kicking it, RSV was worse for me), so my doctor ultimately deduced it via antibodies and by that time, it caused an infection in my lungs.
We're not taking RSV seriously enough in terms of how it can impact adults and not just elderly adults, I feel like. Obviously elderly and children ARE particularly vulnerable, but this can be a terrible and dangerous virus for non-elderly adults too.
