partly because you are an excellent writer who can really capture a scene and partly because, well, MEN <g>. Though to avoid being called sexist, I'm sure there are some women who also milk an illness. I had a great aunt who was a notorious (in our family) hypochondriac and would make up all sorts of illnesses, major and minor, to garner sympathy.
