I'm kind of fascinated by the debate over whether schools should still teach cursive. My sister's kids never learned it...Mom never wrote in anything but cursive. My sister had to read any letters from the kids' grandma to them. I've seen where some schools are teaching it again for that very reason: so younger people will be able to read older people's letters or historical documents. I even saw one school got around the debate by teaching cursive as part of an arts class.
