I only read 2 this month.
I finished "Killers Of The Flower Moon" by David Grann. This is an A+ book but it was hard for me to get through. I kept getting so angry and having to put it down for a while before going back. Man, people can suck.
"Never Lie" by Freida McFadden. My niece gave it to me as a Christmas gift and I blew through it pretty quickly. I'll give it a C+ only because the ending got kind of ridiculous. It was really solid for like 90% and then the writer just started throwing in twist on top of twist and then one more thing. It was silly by the end. Anyhow, the plot is a young couple get stuck in a snow storm at a home their realtor was suppose to be showing them. This big old mansion in the country was previously owned by a well known psychologist who mysteriously disappeared years ago. Husband and wife are stuck there for a couple days, the place may not be so empty after all and the wife finds the psychologist's old taped sessions with patients and starts listening to them.
I'm currently reading "The Haunting" by Natasha Preston. This was also a Christmas gift from my nephew's girlfriend. I greatly appreciate her giving me a gift tho the book itself is more for a YA audience. It's a bit "Scream" like. A teenage girl's parents forced her to break up with her beloved boyfriend after his father went on a killing spree one Halloween. One year later, the killings start up again despite the dad being in prison. So, was he even guilty to start with? Is it a copy cat? Guess we'll see.
