It sounds interesting but a) I'm working my way through a 700+ page book right now and between the length of the book and the general business that happens around the holidays and cuts into reading time, I'm going to be reading it for a while and b) I'm not a big non-fiction reader and, having just finished two long, somewhat complex, non-fiction books, I need a bit of a break from non-fiction. But like you, I love Barbara Ehrenreich's writing (
Nickeled and Dimed blew my mind and rocked my world), so it's definitely going on the list.
I read Little Fires Everywhere a long time ago and enjoyed it, though it wasn't as life-changing for me as it was to many other readers. My favorite part of the book is the numerous references to places that actually exist in and around Shaker Heights. SH is an interesting place...when I was growing up, SH was synonymous with money and snobbery (and being overwhelmingly white, despite the various articles I've read saying SH was founded as a "place of diversity"). Now the demographic is changing, in ways both good and bad, and SH is no longer considered THE place to live once you've "made it".
